Action Plan: AI-Prioritised SEO Tasks and Issue Tracking

Use the Action Plan page to get an AI-generated, prioritised list of SEO tasks. Learn how BearAudit structures your plan, what the sections mean, and how to export items to Jira or Linear.

The Action Plan page is your command center. After crawling your property, extracting entities, and pulling in Google Analytics and Search Console data, BearAudit hands all this context to an AI assistant to generate a custom, prioritised list of SEO tasks.

Instead of overwhelming you with a massive spreadsheet of 404s and missing meta tags, the Action Plan answers the most important question in SEO: “What should I actually do first?”

What the Action Plan includes

The plan is generated by passing a massive briefing of your site's current state. This briefing includes:

  • Crawl and issue metrics — Total pages, pages with issues, non-200 count, and issue counts by category.
  • Analytics & Search Console — Where connected, a summary of traffic, clicks, impressions, and query cannibalization.
  • Entities & Topics — Core topics generated from your entity extractions.
  • High-impact pages — Pages that get actual traffic but suffer from critical SEO or security issues.

Sections explained

When you generate an Action Plan, BearAudit organizes the tasks into clear, thematic sections to help you batch similar work together. While the exact sections depend on what the AI finds on your specific site, they generally fall into these categories:

1. Executive Summary

At the very top, you’ll find a short Executive Summary. This provides a high-level overview of your site's overall health and points out the most glaring opportunities (like a massive spike in 404s or a core cluster of unoptimized high-traffic pages).

2. Quick Win (Next 7 Days)

This section is generated by the AI to highlight the lowest-effort, highest-impact tasks you can knock out immediately. Expect to see items here like:

  • Fixing a critical mass of broken links on high-traffic pages.
  • Adding a single missing meta description to a page that already ranks well.
  • Small configuration tweaks (like robots.txt updates) that unblock large portions of your site.

3. Technical & Performance

This section focuses on structural health. You will typically see items related to:

  • Fixing slow-loading or poorly optimized pages (Core Web Vitals).
  • Resolving broken links (404s), redirect chains, and server errors (5xx).
  • Addressing critical security header misconfigurations.

4. Content & On-Page SEO

This section targets what users and search engines actually read. Expect items like:

5. Site Architecture & Links

This section is about how equity flows through your site:

  • Adding internal links to Orphan Pages (pages with zero incoming links).
  • Cleaning up sitemap discrepancies (URLs in your sitemap that redirect or 404).

Priority Fixes (Fix This Week)

Separate from the AI-generated plan, BearAudit also compiles a "Fix This Week" list. This is a purely data-driven list with the highest-impact issues on your site.

It specifically looks for High Impact pages (pages getting actual clicks and impressions in Google Search Console) that currently have broken elements, are orphaned, or suffer from keyword cannibalization. If you only have 1 hour a week for SEO, start here.

How to read the Action Plan

1. Tackle the 'Fix This Week' issues

The Fix This Week section provides an immediate list of your most critical URLs. Every item in this list provides a direct link to open the affected URL in the Page Viewer.

Use this section to instantly jump into the detailed breakdown for high-impact pages, review their issues, and implement the necessary fixes to clear them from your backlog. See Page Viewer for more information.

2. Export to Jira or Linear

To ensure the work actually gets done, BearAudit integrates directly with Jira and Linear.

  • Export the whole plan: Click "Create Issue" at the top of the page to generate a single Epic or Story containing the entire AI-generated Action Plan.
  • Export "Fix This Week": Click "Create ticket" next to the Fix This Week header to export all the high-priority URL fixes into a single bundled ticket.
  • Export individual items: Next to any specific task in the plan, click the ticket icon to create a dedicated issue just for that task.

Make sure your Jira or Linear credentials are configured in Settings → Integrations to use this feature.

Competitor catch-up tasks

On the Competitors page, generate an AI plan from benchmark data, then click Send to Action plan to merge competitor tasks into this property’s plan. Regenerate here afterward to see updated priorities across both your site and competitive gaps.

4. Regenerate

As you deploy fixes, rerun your crawl and click Regenerate. BearAudit will pass the fresh data back to the AI, which will cross off completed items and suggest the next set of priorities.
