Entities: Explore People, Places, and Organizations in Your Content
Use the Entities page to see people, places, organizations, and events extracted from your site. Filter by type, search, and export to CSV. Improve content strategy and topical authority for SEO and traffic.
The Entities page shows entities (people, places, organizations, events) extracted from your crawled pages using AI or NER. It helps you understand what and who your content is about and spot gaps or opportunities for topical authority and internal linking.
Sections and how to use them
Entity types
Entities are grouped by type:
- People — Named persons mentioned on the site.
- Places — Locations, cities, countries, landmarks.
- Organizations — Companies, institutions, brands.
- Events — Named events, dates, occasions.
Use the type filter to focus on one category (e.g. all “Places” for local SEO or “Organizations” for partnership content).
Entity list and cloud
- Table view — Lists entities with name, type, occurrences (how often they appear), page count (how many pages mention them), and sometimes pages (URLs). Sort and paginate to find the most frequent or widespread entities.
- Cloud or tag view — When available, a visual cloud of entity names (often sized by frequency) gives a quick overview of your content’s main subjects.
Use the list to see which entities dominate your site and which appear on few pages (candidates for more content or internal links).
Search and filter
- Search — Find entities by name so you can check how often a specific person, place, or brand is mentioned and on which pages.
- Filter by type — Restrict to People, Places, Organizations, or Events depending on your goal (e.g. local SEO vs thought leadership).
Page references and export
- Page refs — For each entity you can see which pages mention it. Use this to add internal links between related pages (e.g. link all “Paris” mentions to your main Paris guide) and to plan new content around underused entities.
- Export to CSV — Download entity name, type, occurrences, page count, and page URLs for reporting or content planning.
How the Entities page helps traffic and SEO
- Topical authority — Seeing which entities you cover helps you align content with your niche and add missing entities to strengthen expertise and relevance.
- Internal linking — Pages that mention the same entity are good candidates for linking to each other and to a pillar page, improving crawl paths and signal flow.
- Content ideas — Entities with high occurrence but few pages might deserve a dedicated page; entities with many pages can support hub pages and featured snippets.
- Local and E-E-A-T — Places and organizations support local SEO and expertise signals; people and events support experience and authority.
The Entities page is powered by the same extraction pipeline described in Entity extraction with Gemini. Use it alongside Webpages and Verifications to prioritise which pages to improve and which topics to expand for more traffic and better rankings.
